The topic of (overview of) the mortgage servicing industry is a popular theme at code enforcement and other municipal conferences. To understand how to prevent and address abandoned properties as a result of a mortgage delinquency or foreclosure it is imperative to understand the process.
The Mortgage Servicing Collaborative, an initiative of the Urban Institute’s Housing Finance Policy Center, includes key industry stakeholders, lenders, servicers, consumer groups, civil rights leaders, researchers, and policymakers.
